how fun is this art?

Mylette Welch...artist extraordinaire

i received an email today from artist - mylette welch, who always makes me smile - telling of her upcoming studio show in the california area... i know many of my collectors are on the west coast - so i wanted to share this info. with you. also, for those of you not out west... i've included a link to her site so that you can look at her wonderful paintings, and i promise, get some laughs too. she has 90 paintings on her site that will certainly make you smile... and be sure to click on the 'meet the models' to see her babies that have now become famous on canvas.

information about mylette - and pictures of her artwork is taken directly from her site so that i can blog her easily...

"Mylette's paintings are rooted in the Sonoma County landscape -farmers markets, vineyards, vegetable stands, old gas stations and fast food drive-ins. She paints old cars, children, kitchen scenes and Barbie dolls. But she especially loves color and painting dogs.

Her old yellow lab mix, Gus emerged as a major subject in many of her works for years. Now five year old Pug Toaster and four year old Pug Lola keep Mylette company as she paints in her studio. Both Pugs are rescues.
Other dogs found their way into Mylette’s works, her grandma’s dog Stubby, Bee-Bee the Shelter’s rotund mascot, Tuna the cat and old Floyd the neighbor dog. In time animal lovers were bringing their family members to be included in the fantasy. Once she paints a dog, he will turn up in paintings for years to come “There are so many dogs to paint and so little time.”

check out her site...and you can contact her for any questions that you may have...she now offers prints which is a nice way to have one of her wonderful pieces at an affordable price...
