saturday music show...(just a little early)

the scottish settled in this area....they said it reminded them of home, green and mountainous...

i call the music up here, mountain music...it is a form of bluegrass with a slant towards scottish, irish and folk.. it is an off shoot of the scottish music that was brought here. folk songs passed on from one generation to another, someone finally took notice that it might be lost for all time if not recorded on paper... dates of this music go far back...

it is difficult for me to tell the difference between scottish music and irish....and i believe that is because most of the music was carried from ireland to scotland. every year we have a huge festival where the scottish clans gather, play scottish games and music. kilts of every plaid are proudly worn by the clans...

the music is from one of my favorite bands.....clann an drumma.....i've seen them many a time and always look forward to their coming....our town made a warm welcome to these scottish musicians who afterwards said that they would be returning as often as possible... they are passionate musicians....carry their drums wherever they go and just start playing.... if it starts raining they just duck into a pub and keep playing...i thought i'd share with you something that is so common to me but might be very different for you...
